Monday Evening
Greetings – it is good to be writing to all of you!
Praise and thank the Lord! This has been a positive day! But before we get into that I want to report that Jessie D. was down yesterday from Rochester and stopped to see Marty. It was good to talk with her and get caught up on her situation as well. Then today, Jennifer and Andrew G. were here, what a delightful and wonderful surprise to see them and be able to spend some time with them. Then, this afternoon Kyle B.’s pastor was in. He had stopped last fall and it sure was good to see him again and what a deep wonderful conversation we had. Again, we say it is always good to see and spend time with folks from back home. Thank you all very much for coming by.
Marty has had a pretty good day. She had another CT of her lungs this morning and we are real interested to hear how Dr. Lee and Dr.Barnes (lung doc.) interpret the report to us. We have both read it and do not really understand what it is saying. It kind of sounds like it is saying that they see a couple of things wrong, but they should not be causing the symptoms that Marty is having. We shall see! The good thing though is that the 02 came off this afternoon. I said to the nurse, let’s try an experiment and take the 02 off for 5 minutes or so and see what happens, when we discovered that Marty had not had it on for about 10 to 15 minutes. So, the nurse checked the 02 saturation and it was 97%. That was certainly good enough to take it off. Praise the Lord! Then when the nurse checked Marty’s lungs she said that they really sounded good and were almost perfectly clear. Again, praise the Lord!
Her blood numbers today were all over the place. WBC – 27.7 HGB - 8 (may need blood tomorrow) PLT – 28 (may need platelets tomorrow) BLASTS – 4 It seems like maybe the most that can be said about all that is that it is not settled in and gotten stable yet. Dr. Lee thought that he might get the first report about the biopsy from Friday today and will tell us tomorrow. So, we will see what is happening!
Job 37:5 says “God’s’ voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our under-standing.” What a wonderful verse and it comes from God in the Old Testament. And it seems to me that it is so wonderful, because it is so true. Today, in the conversations with our visitors we did indeed get into some theological issues. And one of the things that we all agreed on without a problem, is the fact that we know that God has a plan and the things that He can do can be way beyond our understanding. So, this again is to say that we must put our faith and trust in Him and not in our own understanding. He has the plan and He has the ability to carry it out. And sometimes He has to thunder with His voice in order for us to understand, and/or for us to respond, and to glorify God. We only pray that we are indeed listening, following His plan, and glorifying Him as we take this path of Marty’s struggle. And may you truly do the same as you live your life to the glory of God.
Have a positive day and God bless.

BIBLES & CELL PHONES
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cellphone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
This is something to make you go...hmmm...where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.
Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities?'
And no dropped calls
Thought you would like that, Bob
